SoFlaJo Diamond Back

Good afternoon polish friends!  You know this is my favorite time of the year, for many reason!  But mostly because I love Fall/Halloween polish!  They are so pretty and inspired.  They have fun names and gorgeous color combinations.  I'm excited to post my first Halloween polish for the year!  This beauty comes from SoFlaJo and is part of her new A Snake in the Hand is Worth Two on the Toes Halloween 2013 collection.  The collection is made up of 5 beautiful polishes and they retail for $10 each.  Jody, the gal behind SoFlaJo is a HUGE fan of Halloween so you know her Halloween inspired polish is going to be amazing!  The collection is already available so head over to the new and improved www.soflajo.com to shop around!  You can also follow SoFlaJo on Facebook, Instagram (soflajo), and Twitter!

So let's look at this pretty new polish shall we?  This is Diamond Back.  Jody describes Diamond Back as a "gold flaky to wear alone or as a color changing green topcoat over black."  Well I took the professionals advice and tried it alone, over black AND I also tried it with a matte topcoat.  I love the look I got from all 3 and I think it really shows the versatility of DB.  Up first is DB alone.  I used 3 coats and found the formula and application to be wonderful.  The polish flows nicely and spread evenly on my nails with an abundance of flakies on each nail.  I loved the delicate look of DB on it's own, but it's sheer so if visible nail line bothers you try it over a nude or light gold base color.  I finished it with 1 layer of topcoat.

Here is 1 coat Diamond Back over 1 coat of Sinful Colors Black on Black.  Look how gorgeous that effect is!  I love the deep green, somewhere between hunter and emerald in color.  And the gold flakes really shine through over black!  I finished this with a layer of topcoat.

And finally I have 1 layer of Sinful Colors Black On Black with 1 layer of Diamond Back and 1 layer of Essie Matte About You matte topcoat.  You still get that gorgeous green, just not shiny.  And it's almost as if you can see both of those shades, hunter being the base, and emerald sparkles throughout!  Of course the gold flakes are gorgeous this way too!  So what do you think?  How did you like it best?
