Sally Hansen Pearl Crush

Good morning lovelies!  It's getting so close to CosmoProf time and I'm so excited to meet up with my blogger and maker friends!  But I have so much to do before then so I'd better get my booty in gear and get on it!  Today I am doing my diligence and sharing some new Sally Hansen polishes.  The Pearl Crush line is made up of 6 sheer toppers full of shimmer and iridescent glitters.  They remind me of mermaid scales!  Now these were a bit harder to work with than I'd imagined, I tried them alone and over a base color.  In the end I decided they looked best on their own.  The large glitters did require some digging.  But the ethereal effect is really pretty so I'd say to try one out and make a decision for yourself since I'm so up and down in my feelings towards them!  You can pick up the Pearl Crush collection in your local drug stores now.  They are $6.99 each.  Ok, let's check out some polish!

Shell & Tell is a lilac based sheer polish full of magenta shimmer and iridescent hexs.  I feel like you can wear this alone or over a base color, but it has to be the right base color.  I tried it over nude and didn't care for it.  So here is Shell & Tell alone, as you can see it's still really sheer.  But it does give a nice pretty nails effect.  The formula and application were both nice.  I did have to dig for some glitters but once I got everything in the bottle mixed up they came out easily enough.  I have on 3 coats of Shell & Tell and 1 layer of topcoat.

Here's Mer-Mint.  I loved this seafoam green in the bottle but it lost that pretty green color on the nail.  It ends up leaning a bit more pink with pink shimmer.  The glitter seemed to be in less quantity so I did have to dig around to get more than one glitter on each nail.  Other than that the formula was easy to work.  I applied 3 coats Mer-Mint and 1 layer of topcoat.

And the last of the Pearl Crush collection that I picked out to share with you is Silver Scallop.  This is a sheer, shimmery grey polish.  I wanted to like this one more, but the heavy shimmer made for a frosty looking polish.  I also found the glitters pretty sparse so I had to do some fishing for them.  I have on 3 coats of Silver Scallop and 1 layer of topcoat.

  1. On Sale. Remains of tossed nail polish. Everything had to go! Nervous because it is old. Too bad no green or blue. Very hard to find! Love it!
