Lady Queen Plaid Water Decals

Top o' the morning to ya!  So I have a lot of nail art supplies, most of which don't get used because I am intimidated by nail art.  I shouldn't be because most of them are so very easy to use.  Case in point are these adorable plaid water slides from Lady Queen!  It really doesn't get any easier than soaking these sheets in water and applying them to your nail.  I've actually had these for a while and they had slipped behind some other items so I'd lost track of them (oops).  But I'm glad I waited to use them because the colors are kind of perfect for the time of the year we are in.  The colors and the pattern are both perfect for Winter and the upcoming Fall.  Thanks for calling it early this year Punxsutawney Phil!  But the bad news is that because these slipped through the cracks I don't see them on the Lady Queen site any more...I did some scouring and found other plaid styles that you could use to easily achieve this look!  The direct link for those plaid decals is HERE.  So without further ramblings let's check out my nail art for dummies (i.e. me).

Of course I needed to start this mani with a base.  I went with OPI I Cannoli Wear OPI, a dusty off white shade that provided a nice, soft base for the water decals.  After following the directions on the package for the decals (cut out a piece to fit your nails or art needs, remove the plastic cover and soak for 20 seconds) I applied them to my nails.  They are easy to apply and initially you can move them around to get them in the correct place.  But you should work quickly so they don't dry in a spot you hadn't intended.  The only thing I'd mention is that when I went to clean u with remover and my clean up brush I found the decals quite sticky and the decal wanted to pull up and off my nail.  So you'll see that the edges aren't so clean or straight.  I'd have to try trimming the sheet down more next time so I have less of the decal to clean up.

I decided to bling things up a bit and added a few matching gemstones to my middle nail.  Love how that looked!  And finally, I wanted to have some sparkly nails too so I picked out Dreamland Lacquer Breakfast At Luke's, the perfect, sparkly Tiffany Blue!  I'm quite happy with how this mani turned out!  1 layer of topcoat and everything was good to go!
